March 1, 2017

A beach wedding is the perfect way to combine both your wedding and honeymoon destination into one location. This type of wedding can be an intimate elopement for two, a gathering with just a handful of people or a large group setting of 100 or more guests. The wedding should be kept natural by utilizing the surrounding beauty of the gulf as a backdrop for your special day.

Location ~

The beaches on the gulf coast of Florida are a great choice for those who enjoy the beauty of the sea and want a location that may hold special meaning or significance. A Destination beach wedding is the perfect way to combine both your wedding and honeymoon destination into one location.

Beach Décor and Design ~

Tropical flowers such as dendrodium  Orchids and calla lilies are popular flowers in florida and are especially beautiful for your bridal bouquet and wedding décor. a bamboo arch can be the main focal point for the bride and groom to say their I do's. the arch can be decorated with the bride's choice of color and florals. chairs with colored sashes tied back with natural florals are perfect seating arrangements for guests. rose petals scattered on the sand leading the altar area are popular and make for beautiful photographs. tiki torches, shepherd's hooks and lanterns may be used to line the aisleway. starfish and shells can accept the wedding area to provide a welcoming beach atmosphere. natural musical instrument such as steel drums, flutes and harps should be played will contributed to the natural atmosphere.

Beach Wedding Attire ~

Although beach weddings are typically more casual, you still want to look like a bride and be comfortable. wedding dresses should have shorter hemlines and if you want to wear a veil make sure it is short and sits to the back of your head. a better look is no veil and adding flowers and jewels to your hair. consider fabrics that work best in the temperature during that time of year. florida, even in the winter months is humid. ditch high-healed shoes and consider low heels or no shoes at all (shoes are always optional on the beach

things to consider ~

When planning the time for your special day, it Is important to consider the month and time of day to have your ceremony. sunset ceremonies are the most popular, however certain times of the year you will need to consider the higher chances of tropical storms and hurricanes, especially in late afternoon and early evening. another consideration is whether the beach is public or private and if you will need to obtain a permit. these are things you should discuss with your officiate or wedding coordinator.
