Adding Special Touches to your Ceremony

January 16, 2016

Although your wedding day is filled with significant moments, it is your ceremony that sets the tone for not only the entire celebration, but your marriage. It's the reason everyone has joined together, and it's more than just a formality. Whether you're having a religious or secular service, your ceremony is your chance to express who you are as a couple.

  • Place a rose on a chair to honor a close relative who has passed away, or involving the parents, both mother and father to walk you down the aisle.
  • We have had couples present their moms and/or parents with a rose to thank them for all their unconditional love and support.

  •  If you have relatives or friends close to you and want them to be more involved in your wedding you can give them a favorite passage to read during the ceremony or ask them to write something special that they will read.

  • Many couples now have children from previous marriages and want the children included in the ceremony. We have family vows that can be read both by the parents and the children and a gift can be presented during this part of the ceremony. A Unity Candle or Sand Ceremony is also an especially nice way to include the whole family in the ceremony.

So, as you can see there are many beautiful and heartfelt ways to make your ceremony special and meaningful to you as a couple.  There are no hard and fast rules any more. So, work with your officiate in writing a ceremony that you will remember all through your marriage as a very special time and one that will serve as a reminder of how fortunate you were to find and still be with your one true love.

Here are just a few. For a complete list, please visit my "Add-on" Ceremonies page on my website. If you don't see what you are looking for, ask me.

  • Unity Sand/Candle Ceremony
  • Hands of the Bride & Groom

"Christina was great to work with. Planning a Florida beach wedding from Indiana would have been very difficult for us. Christina put everything together including the location, the officiant and the photographer as well as offering great ideas and additions to our ceremony. Every email was answered right away and each change was accommodated. Our ceremony was EXACTLY what we wanted. I highly recommend Weddings By Christina!"   ~   Read More »
