He Popped the Question . . . You Said, "Yes"

December 28, 2010

You may be asking yourself, I'm engaged - what's the next step? If you are planning a wedding in the coming year now is the time to get busy by first choosing a venue and a group of qualified and experienced wedding professionals to help you bring your wedding day vision to reality. There are so many out there you may be asking yourself,"So many to choose from, how can I make the right decision?" Here are a few things to consider:

  • Recommendations: If you have friends or family members that recently got married you can ask them who they recommend for photography, flowers, venue, officiate, wedding planning, etc.
  • Reviews: There are several wedding sites like Wedding Wire and Project Wedding that list vendors that may be of interest to you. This is good place to start.
  • Budget: Be realistic about what your budget is and look for vendors that are within that budget. We all want the best but if a particular vendor is nowhere near your buget you would be better off to scratch them off your list. If you find a vendor that is close to your budget you can ask if they have an installment plan. It doesn't hurt to be honest with the vendor you want and explain what you want and what you are willing to spend and see if they will work with you.
  • Experience: How long have they been in business? How many weddings do they do in a year? What are their references and credentials? - These are all questions to ask a prospective vendor.
  • Contract: Before you make your final decision, ask to see their contract. You can get a pretty good idea of how they transact their business from their contract.
  • Personality: Without a doubt, one of the most important considerations when dealing with your key players such as the photographer, DJ/Emcee, Wedding Officiate and Coordinator. Your wedding vendors are there to work with you to make sure your day goes the way you want, so make sure those people have the personality that makes them easy to be around.

"Christina was great to work with. Planning a Florida beach wedding from Indiana would have been very difficult for us. Christina put everything together including the location, the officiant and the photographer as well as offering great ideas and additions to our ceremony. Every email was answered right away and each change was accommodated. Our ceremony was EXACTLY what we wanted. I highly recommend Weddings By Christina!"   ~   Read More »
