It's Official - The 2015 Spring Wedding Colors are Here!!

October 31, 2014

A big part of being a successful wedding planner is staying current with trends and new products.  Our approach at Weddings by Christina is to always be looking for the latest ideas and inspiration to keep our brides excited about their big day. That is why we are excited to share the 2015 Spring Colors by Pantone. These gorgeous colors can be beautifully paired with other colors to create a stunning decor for your Spring wedding!

You may be asking yourself who is Pantone? And, why should I care what colors they pick for next Spring? Pantone is the world authority on color. Their color choices are used by industries, including the fashion and wedding industries, around the world. And when Pantone says a color is fabulous and going to be big next year, they are usually right – because what Pantone says, the fashion and industry world listens to.

If you are planning a Spring 2015 wedding, you may want to know what colors Pantone has chosen, because these are the hues and shades that you will likely see as you shop for your wedding decor ….. and if that’s not a good enough reason for you to take a peek, they are also very beautiful.

Pantone described the palette for Spring 2015 like this:

“This season there is a move toward the cooler and softer side of the color spectrum. An eclectic, ethereal mix of understated brights, pale pastels and nature-like neutrals take center stage as designers draw from daydreams of simpler times. Remembrances of retro delights, folkloric and floral art, and the magical worlds of tropical landscapes restore a sense of well-being as we head into warmer months.” I would have to agree and say their choice of colors have never been so perfect for a wedding with a dash of vintage romance, be it nouveau, deco, retro, or just plain old-world elegant!

Each year Pantone chooses their "Color of the Year". For 2015 they have chosen Aquamarine. Aquamarine is described as an "airy blue with a dreamy feel. Cool and calming, ethereal Aquamarine is a shade with a wet and watery feel. Open and expansive, this restful blue also acts as a stress reducer."

Combine Aquamarine hues with a modern chevron pattern and metallic gold to take on a fresh and contemporary feel.

As a wedding planner our sole purpose is to bring your vision to life, I would be remiss if I didn't add that although these colors are beautiful and inspirational, they will never sway a bride away from what she has been dreaming of.  Most brides choose their wedding colors based on what they love, and if they have always wanted a pink wedding, then no amount of blue, whatever the shade, will draw them away.  It is our job as planners to show brides their choices but, never try to influence them away from what they truly want.
