Love on Longboat Key

It was a celebration of love and family that brought Vira and Lou to Longboat Key for their June nuptials. Vira contacted me initially to just officiate their ceremony but soon realized the “challenges” of trying to plan a wedding long distance and retained my services to assist her with some of her planning. Vira had a beautiful vision of what she wanted her special day to be and wasted no time in meticulously carrying out each and every one. One of the most important factors to her for the ceremony was the inclusion of their families. The chairs were set-up in a semi-circle so each guest had a clear and close-up view of the ceremony. At one point all the guest made a circle around Vira and Lou signifying their love and support for their marriage.

Vira found a poem about the significance of the Starfish which was read while Vira’s two boys made their way around the circle handing out a starfish to each of the guests. It is believed that the Starfish can be seen as celestial symbol and as such, represents infinite divine love. It is said to see a Starfish in your dreams suggest a period of healing and regeneration.

The highlight of the ceremony was when Lou made some heartfelt promises to the boys, calling them the “children of his heart” and promising to always be there for them. He then presented the boys with a gift. In turn the two boys presented Lou with a gift and they all embraced each other – it was a very sweet and tender moment leaving us all a little teary-eyed!

"We were married on the beach in Longboat Key, FL on 6/24/11 and Christina was our officiant and assisted us with planning. Words can not begin to express how grateful we are to her for all of her help. Our family and friends are still raving over how amazing the ceremony was. She helped us to incorporate my 2 children in the ceremony and we completely customized every part of the ceremony to reflect who we are as a couple/family and break away from all of the traditional "stuff" we have heard a million times before. My family STILL gets teary-eyed trying to tell other about it!! Being from NJ, it was intimidating to try to plan a wedding from far away without knowing which vendors were reputable and who to trust, but Christina helped us with all of that and relieved our fears/concerns. She was very responsive, calm and professional. I felt relieved the second she arrived on our wedding day and "took over". It helped me to relax and enjoy everything. I HIGHLY recommend Christina to anyone. Christina, thank you for helping us have a wedding day that FAR exceeded our dreams. We are forever grateful!!"

Best wishes, Vira and Lou. May you have a life filled with God’s richest blessings!
