Make Your Wedding Ceremony Special & Unique

August 30, 2012

Because your wedding day is one of the most cherished days of your life, the ceremony and the words you choose should be just as special. Every part of it, from readings to music to your own special touches, should be a reflection of who you are as a couple and the bond that you share as you begin this new chapter in your life. It is the perfect time where you can express yourself among family and friends through a personalized ceremony. Also, your ceremony will set the tone for a wonderful celebration to follow.

Just as every couple is unique, so are the enhancements you can bring to your ceremony to make it special and may include other significant family members and friends.

Tell Your Love Story

Share the story of how you met and the special qualities about your partner that you love. Where was your first date? How did they pop the question. How do they best express their love for you. What does your partner do that brings a smile to your face and always makes you laugh? As your celebrant we can include these sentiments and incorporate them into your ceremony.

Celebrate Your Culture and Traditions

Include poetry, music and traditions that are examples of your culture and heritgage. These special touches will create a distinctive blend of words and symbols that will honor both your backgrounds and your ceremony will reflect your unique partnership. Some examples would be the Jewish Breaking of the Glass, Jumping the Broom, just to name a few.

Remembrances

The Wedding day can be bittersweet when a loved one has passed away or cannot be there to share in the joy of the occasion. There are both verbal and non-verbal ways to acknowledge a loved one. Sometimes a simple prayer or moment of silence can be done. You may also have a table set--up with a photograph. A memento or flower can be placed on the seat of the missing loved one. Your officiate can assist you in finding an appropriate way to recognize the loved ones in your life that cannot attend.

Including Chilrden

When children are involved, your wedding reflects not only the joining of you as a copule but the creation of a new family or stepfamily. Children sometimes feel left out of with all the wedding planning so finding ways to include them in the ceremony will make them feel a part of the new family that they are now a part of. There are many ways to reflect family unity in your ceremony. Some include the Unity Sand Ceremony, Unity Candle Ceremony and Blended Family Vows.

For other Special Ceremonies that you can add to your ceremony, please visit my Ceremony Enhancements page on my website or ask me about when we meet.

"Christina was great to work with. Planning a Florida beach wedding from Indiana would have been very difficult for us. Christina put everything together including the location, the officiant and the photographer as well as offering great ideas and additions to our ceremony. Every email was answered right away and each change was accommodated. Our ceremony was EXACTLY what we wanted. I highly recommend Weddings By Christina!"   ~   Read More »
