Remembering Loved Ones on your Wedding Day

April 20, 2013
  • Have a poem or reading read at the beginning of the ceremony expressing your love and that they are missed.
  • If your father is deceased and was going to walk you down the aisle you can put a note in the program that you are walking down the aisle in loving memory of him. You can also put a photo of him on a a charm and attach it to your bouquet and that way he is symbolically walking you down the aisle.
  • You can place a simple bouquet on an empty seat where your mother or fiancé’s mother.

  • Did your loved one have a favorite hat or keepsake that was special to them? You can set up a table with their picture and the keepsake.
  • Instead of favors at your reception make a donation in their memory to a foundation such as breast cancer research, or the Alzheimer’s Foundation, etc. and acknowledge the donation in their memory on a card at each place setting.

As you can see, there are many wonderful, moving, and touching ways to remember a lost loved one. Just Remember that there is no right or wrong way to remember them. This is your day and you have the right to include their memory as little or as much as you like and in a manner that you feel is fitting.

"Christina was great to work with. Planning a Florida beach wedding from Indiana would have been very difficult for us. Christina put everything together including the location, the officiant and the photographer as well as offering great ideas and additions to our ceremony. Every email was answered right away and each change was accommodated. Our ceremony was EXACTLY what we wanted. I highly recommend Weddings By Christina!"   ~   Read More »
