Wedding Day Hair Tips and Considerations

When choosing a hairstyle for your wedding day there are several things to consider. Do you want to wear it up or down? What is a more flattering style for your face shape? Is your wedding outdoors? If it is, how does your hair react to humidity and wind? There are many factors to oonsider before walking down the aisle. Here are a few tips.

1) Have a trial run with your hairstylist.  What may looks great in a hairstyle you saw in a magazine may not work on you so a trial run or several on different styles is a must. Be sure that you understand your hair and what it will and will not do. Discuss this with your hairstylist as she understands and knows hair. Your stylist can offer insight as to what  will hold up for eight plus hours and what she knows will not stay up past the first kiss.

2) If you plan on coloring your hair, do so about four months prior to your wedding. This will allow  time for touch ups. Also if you are planning on a hair cut, it should be done about two - three weeks prior to the wedding. Also, this may not sound like good advice but seriously, don’t wash your hair the day of the event. Clean, smooth hair often times will not hold a style well.

3) You should plan to meet with your hair stylist about four months ahead of time. At this time you should bring any hair accessories you plan on wearing like the veil and or if you are planning on wearing a hair accessory. This way your stylist can look at them and advise you on what styles will work best with them. Make sure the style you choose compliments your wedding day look and style fits the formality of the event and be sure to look like yourself just a more fabulous version!

4) You don't want to be rushed on the big day so make sure you allow enough time for your style. You do not want to sit for an unnecessary amount of time looking gorgeous prior to the wedding.  it is important to pay attention to how much movement you are getting by with and how long your hair is holding up. A good idea is to take photographs of each style and look at different angles to make sure it looks great from all angles. Study those photos and make sure you look great at every angle.

5) Not sure how to wear your hair on your wedding day? Wearing a sparkling hairpiece -- like a glittering headband or a delicate comb will  instantly dresses up any hairdo. Often times, the smallest details can make the biggest impact; like these elegant accessories.  When thoughtfully placed, they'll accent your style's best asset . . .  whether it is a graceful twist or soft chignon.

Finally . . . This is your day!!  it’s very important that you look and feel good all day long. Try not get caught up in thinking everyone’s opinion matters. Be confident in knowing what looks best on you. The only opinions that should count are yours, your stylists, and maybe a few close friends. It’s easy to get overwhelmed, but try to just kick back and let yourself be pampered!
